For 600 years he had waited, patiently, watching the humans grow, all of them, as ordered. But they had never returned for him, they had never shown... until now.
Lights tore through the skies, illuminating Chicago with the bright green customary of their clan, the screams of the humans below drowned out only by the screeches of the ship entering the Earth's atmosphere. Or so he hoped. It had been so long - had he forgotten what his species were even like?
Why now? Why had they waited so long to return for him? What had they come here for?
