“30 seconds to entry,” came the crackled voice of mission control, thousands of miles away.
“Roger,” Keira replied, breathing heavily as the probe made its final approach.
She looked beside her, desperate for reassurance, only to find that her co-pilot too look terrified. Everything rested on this moment.
“Gently,” she mumbled, feeling her glance.
Keira looked back to the controls, her hands threatening to slip as perspiration developed. One chance to get close enough to release the device; one chance to push the sun back from its destructive path. One chance… to save humanity.
